Apple Seed Experiment

I'm making an attempt to grow a tree from apple seeds. Wish me luck. And allow many years for my goal's expected completion.

Ah, I've been planting seeds too. Hoping for a sugar apple tree, or a sour sop, or an avocado.

Did you know that apples, as a species, are heterozygous? That means the seed is a combination of the genes from two different "parent" trees. Which means . . . you have about a 1 in 1000 chance of your tree bearing fruit that will be edible.

:(

Sorry. Most commercial apple trees are bred by grafting. Maybe you'll reproduce some crazy ancient apple quality, like blue skin.
